Seeking Medievalist and Knights for Fun and Profit

    Hi,

I'm Dustin Stephens the Green knight. I joust under the name Sir Dustin de Grey.  I offer training in the Four Winds Jousting technique. I have devised this technique from personal experience and historical research. I believe it to be the safest and most similar  to actual historical jousting style.  Anyone who would like to become a knight and compete at our open jousting competitions are welcome. Training is held at my Renaissance Faire site in East Texas. I am willing to develop seminars etc.... My goal is to generate 200 quality knights with horses, squires and equipment for tournaments around the state and beyond. There are a number of Jousting troups but most are show knights not competing knights. The big competition is who will get the limited contracts at renaissnace faires. With a true competition there needs to be a great many competitors. The four winds faire is becoming known as a participants faire. We offer competitions in Archery, Highland Games, BellyDanceing, combat, and Jousting. My feeling is that most people don't want to sit quietly as spectators they want to be part of the action.  If you miss the old Renfaire concept of personality and approachable reality maybe this is the place you've been looking for. We don't stage our jousts. The hits are real and we don't know who will win. We are open for faire in March and April for eight weekends. There is an open Jousting competition, that we refer to as the Rendependence Celebration, held the weekend prior to the Fourth of July. We also have a three weekend haunted Hayride prior to Halloween.  We are always looking for friends wishing to be performers, personalities, vendors, squires etc...

    Sir Dustin,

Seeing you on that fine steed makes me wish I owned a horse and could train as a Knight. Hmmm...perhaps I can procure a horse by pre-emptive salvaging. I am, after all, a PIRATE!!

Welcome to Renspace. Good to see you here. Mayhaps I'll find myself in Texas soon and shall look you up at faire. I do sail out of the Gulf of Mexico. ;-)
